  • The capacity to make decisions, including: determining capacity, unwise decisions, making decisions, deprivation of liberty safeguards
  • How to respond to any concerns that you have about a vulnerable adult
  • How to act if information is disclosed to you by a vulnerable adult
  • Safer recruitment when it comes to vulnerable adults, including: what a DBS check is, the types of DBS checks and obtaining a DBS check
  • How to report any concerns and the importance of reporting concerns
  • How to record your concerns
  • Referrals and social care’s decision, including: the referral process, adult social care’s decision, strategy discussions, the case conference and protection plans

Test

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (Adults) online training course includes an end of course test. Please see the assessment section for more information.

  • The end of course Designated Safeguarding Lead (Adults) test demonstrates the student’s understanding of the information contained within the course.
  • The test is taken online, so there is no need to attend a training centre.
  • The test consists of multiple choice questions.
  • Students must achieve at least 70% in the test to be awarded a pass and download their Designated Safeguarding Lead (Adults) Certificate.
  • Students that do not pass the test can retake it.
  • We do not charge for retaking the test, provided the course is completed before the course expiry date.

Receiving login details

Once you make your purchase, you will be directed to a webpage where you can tell us the student(s) name(s). Each student will be allocated a unique username and password. These details will be sent to the email address provided by the person making the purchase. We aim to send you your login details within an hour of your purchase between 0900 and 2100 hours.

Purchases made outside of these times may take longer. Purchases made after 2200 hours may not be processed until the following day.

Look out for an email from us. If you do not receive it within an hour, please check your SPAM folder to see if it has been diverted there by your SPAM filter. If it is not in your SPAM folder, please email [email protected] with your receipt number and we will resend the login details to you.

Accessing the course

The course materials will work on any internet enabled device running an up to date internet browser. Each student will have 30 days from the date of purchase to log on and complete their course, unless the course is purchased as part of a bundle, in which case access will be for the duration of the bundle as advertised. The course does not need to be completed in one sitting. Students can log out and return any time up until the course is completed or until the 30 day access expires, unless the course is purchased as part of a bundle, in which case access will be for the duration of the bundle as advertised.

Course certificate

Students can download the course certificate as soon as they pass the online test.

Course expiry

Student’s access to the course will expire on completion of the course or after the 30 days from the original purchase (whichever is sooner). If the course is purchased as part of a bundle, then access will be for the duration of the bundle as advertised.
