This Safeguarding Training (Foundation) online training course raises awareness of adult safeguarding and the key responsibilities of individuals that work with vulnerable adults, or their families.

Our Safeguarding Training, (Foundation) training course includes access to the online training resources, the online Safeguarding Training course (Foundation) Test and a downloadable Safeguarding Training course (Foundation) Certificate on successful completion of the course.

Course content

Our online Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults Level 1 training course covers:

  • The term safeguarding and its meaning
  • The key legislation surrounding safeguarding and the legal responsibilities of those that work with vulnerable adults and/or their families
  • How to identify signs of abuse
  • The capacity to make decisions, including, determining capacity, unwise decisions, making decisions, deprivation of liberty safeguards
  • How to respond to any concerns that you have about a vulnerable adult
  • How to act if information is disclosed to you by a vulnerable adult
  • How to report any concerns and the importance of reporting concerns
  • How to record your concerns


Our Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults Level 1 online training course includes an end of course test. Please see the assessment section for more information.

  • The end of course Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults Level 1 test demonstrates the student’s understanding of the information contained within the course.
  • The test is taken online, so there is no need to attend a training centre.
  • The test consists of multiple choice questions.
  • Students must achieve at least 70% in the test to be awarded a pass and download their Safeguarding Children Certificate.
  • Students that do not pass the test can retake it.
  • We do not charge for retaking the test, provided the course is completed before the course expiry date.

Purchasing your course(s)

Receiving login details

You will be sent an email (from [email protected]) that will contain instructions for accessing your dashboard and allocating your course(s) to students. Please check your SPAM / JUNK folder if you do not receive the email as it may get blocked by your firewall. If you have not received it within one hour and it is not in your SPAM / JUNK folder, you can email [email protected] for a copy to be sent to you. (Please note that 98% of people that contact us go on to find the message in their SPAM / JUNK folder.) Each student will be allocated a unique username and password. These details will be sent to the email address provided by the person making the purchase. We aim to send you your login details within an hour of your purchase between 0900 and 2100 hours.

Purchases made outside of these times may take longer. Purchases made after 2200 hours may not be processed until the following day.

Accessing the course

The course materials will work on any internet enabled device running an up to date internet browser. Each student will have 30 days from the date of purchase to log on and complete their course, unless the course is purchased as part of a bundle, in which case access will be for the duration of the bundle as advertised. The course does not need to be completed in one sitting. Students can log out and return any time up until the course is completed or until the 30 day access expires, unless the course is purchased as part of a bundle, in which case access will be for the duration of the bundle as advertised.

Course certificate

Students can download the course certificate as soon as they pass the online test.

Course expiry

Student’s access to the course will expire on completion of the course or after the 30 days from the original purchase (whichever is sooner). If the course is purchased as part of a bundle, then access will be for the duration of the bundle as advertised.

Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults Level 1 Certificate

Students that complete this course are awarded a CPD certified Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults Level 1 Certificate, which may be downloaded immediately.

This course covers much of what your employees will need to know to protect vulnerable adults and their responsibilities while working with vulnerable adults, but it may need to be supplemented with organisation-specific information.
